WELCOME TO THE North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.

This Board is a seven member board appointed by the Governor of North Dakota. The Board was established in July of 1989.  The North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice is governed by the Clinical Laboratory Practice Act, Chapter 43-48 of the North Dakota Century Code and Article 96-01 Administrative Rules and Regulations which are published in the North Dakota Administrative Code and enforceable by law under the jurisdiction of sections 43-48-15 and 43-48-16 of the North Dakota Century Code.  The Rules and the Act govern the licensure of clinical laboratory professionals in the state of North Dakota and provide a penalty for noncompliance.

Important Notice TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice will hold a public hearing to address proposed changes to the N.D. Admin. Code at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at the Ft. Totten Room, State Capitol, Bismarck, ND. A copy of the proposed rules may be obtained by writing the Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice at NDBCLP, PO Box 4103, Bismarck, ND 58502-4103 or calling 701-530-0199. Also, written comments may be submitted to NDBCLP, PO Box 4103, Bismarck, ND 58502-4103 until September 4, 2009. If you plan to attend the public hearing and will need special facilities or assistance relating to a disability, please contact the Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice at the above telephone number or address at least 5 days prior to the public hearing.  

Important Notice All requests for exempt tests/methods must be received by the Board office no later than June 1, 2010 in order for them to be considered for addition to the Administrative Rules in Fall 2010 If the FDA pulls approval on any of the exempt tests/methods, it is the responsibility of the lab that is using this test/method to follow the FDA requirements for further testing.
